Since its founding in 2002 codeMantra has been a supplier of technology-driven solutions for commercial publishers around the world. Clients include Springer Verlag, McGraw-Hill Professional, Oxford University Press, Chronicle Books, Workman Publishing, Continuum Books, University of North Carolina Press and many Canadian publishers.

The company is an active member of the digital publishing community, taking a role in agencies like the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) to promote knowledge and standards for an industry in transition.

An executive group led by Suresh R. Chakravarthy, CEO, and Andy Ananth, President, manages a production staff of over 700 technicians and professionals located in Chennai, India.

Muruga J
Business Head - Technology Solutions

Muruga J has over 15 years of experience in Information Technology related to Business Process Outsourcing. He directs all technical operations, product development, and has responsibility for offshore software development and technical support. He is currently managing the development and launch of an ecommerce web application and digital warehouse platform powered by collectionPoint™ for a major book store chain in India.

Muruga earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Madras University, Honors Diploma in Systems Management from NIIT, Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from IGNOU, Certification in client-server technology from SSIL, and Government of India’s Diploma in IT Law & Management.

He successfully completed his Executive MBA program from the premium business school, Indian Institute of Management, IIM Calcutta to leverage the most advanced management approaches and to keep abreast of change in the globalized business environment.

Dr. Satya Pamarty
Business Head, Publishing Services

Satya has been working in the publishing services industry for nearly 15 years. He brings to the table a well rounded exposure to all areas of publishing services most of which was in the prepress arena. An established academic, he did his bachelor’s degree in Physics. In his MSc, he was a University first rank holder and a gold medal recipient from the University of Madras. As part of his Ph.D thesis, he co-authored 9 scientific papers that were published in reputed scientific journals.

In 1995, he joined Scientific Publishing Services (SPS) -- a Springer Verlag-owned company -- as part of its first team of prepress professionals. He grew to be an account manager responsible for key accounts of the company. In the course of his growth at SPS, he virtually worked his way up through the ranks with experience in all tasks including editorial, composition, scanning and printing. He had worked on XML- first workflows from the initial days of their adoption by publishers and has contributed significantly to development in this field.

Satya joined codeMantra in 2006; he takes care of production at the Chennai production facility and provides direction, resource planning, manpower management, and directs R&D endeavors. He heads the production staff of about 700 people with a clutch of Account managers reporting to him whom he directs to assess, design, plan, implement and execute projects of a varied nature.

A constant innovator, he provides leadership in looking at ways to automate and to rev up production strategies to meet the ever-changing needs of the publishing industry.

Srininivas M.
Project Manager – Conversion Services

Srini has applied his engineering degree to his career of more than 10 years in the digital publishing industry. He has managed many projects for customers such as John Wiley & Sons, Cengage, McGraw Hill Professional, Vital Source Technologies, Association of Canadian Publishers, Pearson and Penguin, amongst others.

He has extensive experience in setting up and managing workflows, client relations and deliverables of large-scale conversion and digitization projects. He has filled a leadership role for several years and also has excellent knowledge in the areas of ebooks, XML, digital publishing and digital asset distribution management.

He plays a key role in planning, resource management and process flow implementations and has a natural flair for people and process management. As project leader, Srini is responsible for providing answers to all technical and project-related queries from clients as well as insuring timely delivery of projects.

During his career, he has headed the Quality Assurance team for over two years and has created quality control workflows for various flavors of XML/HTML digital publishing workflows and has helped in establishing best practices, documentation and quality control methods. With his knowledge of digital publishing, he has helped teams achieve maximum productivity by optimal use of available resources. His primary strengths are project execution, reporting and meeting client expectations.
